INTERNSHIP/ Work Experience
Summer Trainee, Software Section of NEC HCL System Technologies, Greater Noida, UP (45 days, 2007)
- Part of a team developing a software system based on the new technology of Stereo Image Processing.
- Designed a Web Service and Web Site combination to fasten the transfer of heavy aerial Image Files from end users to the Main Server over Internet for Backend Processing. The Web Service was designed in ASP.NET using C# to receive, save and re-organise the data and was installed on a Windows Server 2003. The Web Site was designed in JavaScript/HTML using AJAX to asynchronously transmit the data.
- Developed a new technique of asynchronous parallel transfer of data (by segmenting and re-organising) which improved the transfer speed from earlier asynchronous serial transfers by as much as 50%.
PROJECTS
- Hangman, 2003 - Developed a Game in C++ with a DOS based GUI based on the popular Hangman Game. It had its database encrypted to prevent cheating, used File Handling to keep High Scores and used C++ Graphics for In-Game Animation. It was short-listed for National-Level of ‘Intel Science Talent Discovery Fair - 2005’.
- Steganography Tool, 2007 - Developed an application in C#.NET which can be used to hide secret messages or data inside bitmap images using data hiding techniques.
- Embedded Systems, 2007 – Under Prof. D.V. Gadre, developed a kit using AVR ATMega8 μC and simulated its basic applications viz. sensor, LED panel, alarm etc. A GPS location display was developed under IEEE-NSIT, which extracts useful data from satellites and displays current location on LCD Screen.
- Computer Networking, 2008 – Developed a Chat application and an FTP server and client application in C using Linux Network & Socket Programming.
- Micromouse, 2006 – Developed a modification for a remote controlled car using the Matlab Parallel Port Interface. The car automatically moved on a given predefined path for a pre-written Matlab program. Showcased at the annual technical festival Innovision’06-‘07 at NSIT, New Delhi.
- Business Plan, 2006 - Developed a Business Plan on ‘Biometric Security Solutions’ in a team of two, where my contribution was to analyze and present Financial Data, conceive unique products and their marketing strategies. Used my Communication Skills in the Presentations and we won 3rd Prize at Innovision’06-’07, NSIT and were selected for finals at IIT Kharagpur and IIT Delhi.
